Bill Self believes Devonte’ Graham, KU basketball can reach ‘another gear’

LAWRENCE — Bill Self was pleased with Devonte’ Graham’s final stat line from Saturday’s victory over Texas.

This, however, is also true: The Kansas basketball coach was left wanting more — a lot more.

Graham, the No. 2 Jayhawks’ junior guard, scored 15 points in the first half of KU’s eventual 79-67 victory over the Longhorns at Allen Fieldhouse. Graham posted nine points in the game’s first seven minutes alone, guiding the Jayhawks to a 19-5 lead out of the gate.

The second half, though, was a different story.

After nine first-half shot attempts, Graham took and converted only one attempt from the field.
