Kansas Lives Down to Low Expectations at Spring Game

The Kansas Jayhawks have won just nine games the past four seasons, and expectations in Lawrence are not exactly high. However, former Texas A&M and Kansas wide receiver coach David Beaty was tabbed as head coach this offseason. His recruiting ties in Texas were a big reason for the hire, and Jayhawk fans at the very least are hoping for some improvement.

If the spring game Saturday was any indication, Kansas may have a long way to go.

The 2008 Orange Bowl champs lost their starter Michael Cummings to a knee injury during the game, and Beaty announced that running back Corey Avery (the team’s leading rusher from a season ago), and Rodriguez Coleman, the most experienced returning wide receiver, were suspended indefinitely for violating team rules.
