It’s early September, which means the season is wearing down and players are beginning to get close to or have recently hit some performance and playing time bonuses, so I wanted to just take a quick look at where the Royals are in that race.

- Eric Hosmer – $100k for Gold Glove; he’s as close to a lock as you can be, it’s happening
- Alcides Escobar – $50k for making the All Star team
- Lorenzo Cain – $50k for making the All Star team
- Mike Moustakas – $50k for making the All Star team
- Salvador Perez – $50k for making the All Star team
Performance/Playing Time Bonuses
- Cain – $50k for reaching 505 plate appearances (achievement unlocked)
- Danny Duffy – $10k for 20 starts (achievement unlocked), $15k for 25 starts; he’s four away, it’s happening
- Kendrys Morales – $100k each for 400, 425, 450, 475, 500, 525 (all previous achievements unlocked) and 550 plate appearances; he’s 16 plate appearances away from reaching 550, so yeah, that’s happening
- Moustakas – $10k for 550 plate appearances; he’s 41 plate appearances away with 29 games to go, it’s happening
- Chris Young – $250k for 30 days, 60 days and 90 days on 25-man roster (achievement unlocked)
Unknown Terms
- Luke Hochevar – $500k in non-closer performance bonuses
- Ryan Madson – $150k in performance bonuses; it seems likely he’s reached these, whatever they are
- Kris Medlen – Up to $4 million in performance bonuses
