The Royals selected the contract of infielder Dusty Coleman from Class AAA Omaha on Thursday and sent infielder Christian Colon to Omaha.
Coleman, who played at Wichita State, was added to the 40-man roster, which is now full.
Coleman, 28, split the season between Class AA Northwest Arkansas and Omaha. He has hit .304 this season with 17 doubles, seven home runs and 35 RBIs in 69 games.
Colon hit .244 with four RBIs in 29 games this season with the Royals.
After seven years in the Oakland A’s organization, Coleman signed a minor-league contract with the Royals this past offseason.
