KC Royals Prospect Brian Flynn Out Three to Five Months

There were not many position battles for the KC Royals during Spring Training. In fact, the most interesting one may have developed when Tim Collins required Tommy John surgery, as the Royals suddenly needed to find a left handed reliever. While Brian Flynn pitched well during his attempt to make the Opening Day roster, posting a 2.40 ERA and a 0.933 WHiP while striking out 14 batters in 15 innings, he was sent to Omaha to start the season.

It was thought that, if there was an injury to the bullpen, that Flynn would be one of the first options to be brought up.
