Before he left in free agency, Jeff Allen left the Kansas City Chiefs front office with a tough choice as to whether or not they could afford to keep him from hitting the market. Ultimately the Chiefs decided to let him walk and the Houston Texans won the bidding war with a four-year, $28 million deal to bring the offensive lineman to Texas.

For the Chiefs, there were reasons on both sides to be argued. On one hand, Allen had struggled with various injuries and ailment that kept him from ever playing a full season during four years in Kansas City.
