Chiefs will check out eclipse, if weather holds

With the first total eclipse in 99 years expected to hit Kansas City around 1:07 p.m. Monday, Chiefs coach Andy Reid — who has a practice scheduled for 1:40 p.m. —said he won’t stop his players from checking it out if they want.

“I’ve seen one — I can’t tell you it’s like Disneyland or anything,” joked Reid, who saw the last partial eclipse several years ago. “I’ve seen it, done it, and listen, it’s interesting to see one time. If the guys want to take a look at it, I’m OK with it.”

Reid noted that the time of the eclipse actually fits right into the practice schedule, “so it worked out okay where we don’t have to change a ton of things,” Reid said.
