KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- It's interesting to note that coach Andy Reid at the end of the season was more optimistic about the return of safety Eric Berry than the other Kansas City Chiefs veterans he was asked about, quarterback Alex Smith and running back Jamaal Charles.
Reid was in wait-and-see mode with Smith and Charles but not with Berry, the one among the three not under contract for 2017.
"I think everybody here would love to have Eric back," Reid said. "I don’t think that’s different in the front office than it is right here as I’m speaking to you.
