Jaguars coach Gus Bradley names Kelvin Beachum starting left tackle

Jaguars coach Gus Bradley said Tuesday that Luke Joeckel had his best training camp at left tackle.

It wasn’t enough to keep his job.

In a decision that was in reality made on March 16, Bradley named Kelvin Beachum the team’s starting left tackle. Beachum signed with the Jaguars that day, after spending his first four seasons in Pittsburgh. The Steelers viewed him as dispensable after he tore his ACL in October.

Joeckel will be beside Beachum at left guard when the regular season opens against visiting Green Bay on Sept. 11. Bradley said neither will play in Thursday’s preseason finale at Atlanta.
