The Jacksonville Jaguars quietly re-signed offensive lineman Josh Wells on February 17, 2017. For a team that has struggled with injuries along the offensive line, retaining depth is critical.
Wells has made game appearances in the past but hasn’t been much more than a body. The deal is not a big-time move that will draw much attention and it shouldn’t. If the Jaguars want to adequately address the offensive line they need to make big moves in free agency or in the 2017 NFL Draft, not just re-signing players that are going are little more than stopgaps in case someone goes down.
