The Pride of the Jaguars received a needed lightning bolt on Tuesday.
Jaguars owner Shad Khan announced that former receiver Jimmy Smith will be inducted into The Pride, becoming the fourth player in franchise history to receive the honor.
Smith is the best receiver in Jaguars history, holding franchise records with 862 receptions, 12,287 receiving yards and 67 touchdown catches. A five-time Pro Bowl selection, Smith teamed with receiver Keenan McCardell to headline one of the league’s greatest tandems of the 1990s, dubbed “Thunder and Lightning.”
“I’m extremely grateful and thankful for being inducted into The Pride,” Smith said on a media conference call.
