The Jacksonville Jaguars have focused on the offensive side of the ball so far in the 2017 NFL Draft, taking a new starting running back (Leonard Fournette), left tackle (Cam Robinson) and slot receiver (Dede Westbrook). They decided to even things out by selecting their third defender in the 7th round – defensive back Jalen Myrick out of Minnesota.
Like some of the other prospects, my knowledge of players from schools like Minnesota is limited, so I went to Pro Football Focus for a scouting report:
Bottom line: In another cornerback class, Myrick’s raw speed would perhaps see him drafted highly for that reason alone.
