Jaguars announce signing of center Stefen Wisniewski

The Jaguars signed free agent center Stefen Wisniewski today, three weeks after he visited the team.

Per a source, it’s a one-year contract worth $2.5 million.

Wisniewski, who had played his entire career with the Oakland Raiders, will challenge incumbent Luke Bowanko for the starting position in training camp.

Wisniewski’s last two years with the Raiders coincided with current Jaguars offensive coordinator Greg Olson’s two seasons calling the plays.

Wisniewski also visited New England, Seattle, Washington and Tennessee during free agency.

In a statement, general manager Dave Caldwell said:

“We had the opportunity to spend time with Stefen earlier this month and remained in contact with him with the hopes of getting a deal done.
