Iowa State defensive tackle Vernell Trent broke his leg during spring practice. What is the timeframe for Trent returning to the field?
If defensive line coach Eli Rasheed’s initial opinion is correct it won’t be until the end of the season that he’s truly making an impact.
“It’s going to take some time and I could see him down there working his way in there mid-fall, getting some reps and then helping us late in the year,” Rasheed told the Ames Tribune.
Trent spent the last two seasons as a reserve defensive tackle. Rasheed liked what he saw from Trent before the injury.
