HUMBOLDT — The Iowa State men’s basketball coaching staff and its players aren’t ignoring all the uncertainty and rumor that has surrounded the program regarding coach Fred Hoiberg’s future, but they’re trying to do the best they can not to be distracted by it.
“Fred is our head coach,” assistant T.J. Otzelberger said at Wednesday afternoon’s stop of the ISU tailgate tour, “and with our guys, we’re just approaching business as usual, a single-minded focus, trying to keep tunnel vision on everything that we need to do to keep preparing our guys every day and make sure with them they make sure they’re doing what they need to do.
