PINEHURST, N.C. -- The University of Iowa women's golf team is second in the 19-team field following the first two rounds of the Pinehurst Challenge on Monday. The Hawkeyes posted scores of 288 and 285 on the first 36 holes at Pinehurst Resort's Course No. 1 for a total of 573 (-3).
East Carolina leads the field (570; -5), while Chattanooga and Elon tie for third (575; -1).
"We played very steady today as a team," said UI head coach Megan Menzel. "It was great to see some birdies late.
