The Indianapolis Colts and center Ryan Kelly wasted no time consummating what both sides hope will be a fruitful and long-standing relationship.

Kelly, the team’s first-round draft pick, agreed to a deal on a rookie contract Wednesday, just six days after he was chosen. The agreement makes Kelly the first of this year’s first-round picks to sign a contract.

Kelly will get a standard four-year deal, which based on rookie contract parameters, should earn him around $10.4 million with a $5.799 million signing bonus. As per the NFL’s collective bargaining agreement, Kelly’s deal will include a fifth-year team option that must be exercised in the spring of 2019.
