Colts focused on extending plays for big gains with receivers

INDIANAPOLIS -- One noticeable thing coming out of the Indianapolis Colts organized team activities (OTAs) is that the coaching staff is emphasizing to the quarterbacks and offensive linemen to continue playing even if a defensive player is on the verge of getting sack.

“[Offensive coordinator Rob Chudzinski] and the rest of the guys have done a great job of extending plays so to speak when it breaks down,” coach Chuck Pagano said. “We don’t blow a whistle and stop it. There’s a pressure, there’s a sack, obviously, but we can’t get near the quarterback this time of year so the defense does a fly by.
