Colts comeback falls short against Cowboys

ARLINGTON, Texas — Third-string quarterback Cooper Rush threw two second-half touchdown passes, and the Dallas Cowboys (2-1) defeated the Indianapolis Colts (0-2) 24-19 on Saturday night in an NFL preseason game at AT&T Stadium.

There were three main storylines for the Colts: the struggles of the first-team defense on the opening drive, a sparkling debut for rookie running back Marlon Mack and another solid showing for backup quarterback Stephen Morris.

It was also a big night for Fort Wayne’s Smith family. Younger brother Jaylon made his NFL debut as the starting middle linebacker for the Cowboys, and older brother Rod tore up Indianapolis’ reserve defense.
