The 3 Top Needs For The Colts In The 2015 NFL Draft

The Indianapolis Colts had a great season, but lost to the New England Patriots in the AFC Championship Game. Indy is a team on the rise with Andrew Luck under center, but they still need some pieces to become legitimate championship contenders. Here are the positions they'll look at in the draft to help strengthen some of their weaknesses.

DEFENSIVE LINE

Indianapolis had a lot of trouble rushing the passer last season without Robert Mathis, and while he'll be back next season, he is nearing the end of his career. The Colts need to find depth at the position, and they could go after Florida’s Dante Fowler, Jr. (who can also play LB) or Oregon’s Arik Armstead in the first round.

SAFETY

Indianapolis' safeties struggled in pass coverage in 2014, and after cutting starting strong safety LaRon Landry, they need to find a good player who can anchor the back end of the defense. Gerod Holliman from Louisville or Derron Smith from Fresno State would be good options for the Colts in the first round.

OFFENSIVE LINE

The Colts' offensive line wasn't bad last year, but with so much of their success hinging on the play of Andrew Luck, it makes sense to do all they can to protect him. If they decide to go this direction in the first round, LSU's La'el Collins and Florida State's Cameron Erving would be their likely targets.
