Georges Niang is headed to the NBA Development League to join the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The Indiana Pacers announced their rookie was assigned to the team on Tuesday.
Niang has mostly appeared in garbage time this season, playing 13 games while averaging 0.8 points and a rebounds.
During Summer League, Niang looked promising as he averaged 10.2 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 2.6 assists a game, but obvious NBA competition is a bit tougher.
Sending him down to Fort Wayne is more about making sure he doesn’t get rusty waiting on the bench than anything else.
