WICHITA, Kan. – Illinois State's women's tennis team concluded its 2017 spring regular season Saturday morning by falling, 7-0, at Wichita State. Illinois State finished the season with a 5-2 Missouri Valley Conference record.
For more than half the season, Illinois State did not have enough healthy players to fill all six flights, which meant they automatically started matches trailing, 1-0. In doubles competition Saturday, the Redbirds forfeited the third doubles match and did not finish the second. Marcia Tere-Apisah and Jelena Karla Vujicic came up short against Gabriela Porubin and Fatima Bizhukokva, 6-3.
