ST. LOUIS – Illinois State's Amanda McClain has been named the Missouri Valley Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Week, Commissioner Doug Elgin announced Tuesday. McClain and male winner, Kyle Landon of Southern Illinois, were honored for their performances during the week of January 9-15.
McClain had a spectacular day at the Terre Haute Double Dual, as she won the women's long jump. She had one of her best series winning the event with a leap at 5.91m (19-04.75), which is leading the Missouri State Conference. She went one winning the women's 400-meter dash at a time of 56.
