SUGAR GROVE — After a hot start, Illinois State sophomore Trent Wallace shot even-par 72 in Saturday's second round of the NCAA Division I Championship at Rich Harvest Farms.
Wallace in tied for 62nd place with a 1-over total of 145 through 36 holes. Individual leader Scottie Scheffler of Texas shot a second straight 68 to sit at 8-under with four players one stroke behind.
Wallace started his round on the back nine with three straight birdies. He countered bogeys on Nos. 13 and 15 with birdies at Nos. 17 and 2, but a bogey on the par-4 fourth and a double on the 562-yard seventh moved him back to even for the day.
