Sterling Taplin broke a 67-all tie by driving inside for a basket with 11.3 seconds left. ISU called a timeout and coach Dan Muller was given a technical foul for protesting a traveling call on Phil Fayne that gave Tulsa possession with 36 seconds left, setting up Taplin’s basket.
Paris Lee paced ISU (4-3), which had a three-game winning streak snapped, with 18 points. Also scoring in double figures for the Redbirds, who led 50-36 with about 16 minutes left, were MiKyle McIntosh (15), Tony Wills (11) and Deontae Hawkins (10).
