Missouri Valley Conference Release
NORMAL, Ill. – Illinois State volleyball players Aly Dawson and Courtney Pence have been named the Missouri Valley Conference's offensive and defensive players of the week, the league announced Monday.
Dawson and Pence helped the Redbirds win both of their matches over the weekend, as Illinois State earned a 3-1 win over Loyola on Friday and a 3-0 victory over Bradley on Saturday, in matches played at Redbird Arena.
The award is the second straight weekly honor for Pence, who was also named the MVC Defensive Player of the Week last Monday.
