Daniel Gagne Qualifies for NCAA Championship

Austin, Texas – Junior Daniel Gagne of the Bradley track team became the first BU man to qualify for the NCAA Track and Field Championship in more than 40 years, advancing in the 1,500m run after his performance at the NCAA West Preliminary on Saturday on the campus of the University of Texas.

Gagne ran the event on Saturday in a time of 4:00.36, placing fourth in his heat with the top five finishers automatically advancing to the NCAA Championship in two weeks. Overall, 12 runners from the west region advanced to the title meet and Gagne is one of 24 student-athletes in the country that qualified for the national championship.
