Over the weekend, we reached 36,000 followers on Twitter (@news_gazette). Even better, the milestone-maker is someone we know.
Former Illini football player Bryan Truttling (@BryanTruttling), a fourth-grade teacher at Garden Hills Elementary in Champaign, got us there.
"What draws me to Twitter," he said, "is being current with local, national and international news as well as weighing in on subjects with other users. I also use Twitter to network with other teachers and share ideas."
Truttling, a 33-year-old from East Chicago, Ind., who lives in Urbana, is as motivated in the classroom as he was on the field.
