Normally, bobbleheads don't look a lot like their subjects. But they got Gene Honda's right.
"I think the likeness is pretty spot on," said Phil Sklar, co-founder and CEO of the National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum. "I remember Gene saying something to the effect, 'It looks great, except it looks too much like me.' "
Honda is the PA announcer for Illinois football, the White Sox and Blackhawks.
Honda is donating his proceeds from the bobblehead to Illini Media for the important role it played in his career.
The Honda bobblehead has the usual shaking top.
