Karras is the second Illinois player to be drafted and the last player in the 6th round of the draft this year.
The Patriots might need Karras this year actually. They have Shaq Mason returning from last season but the other offensive guard departed.
Karras is going to have to compete for starting minutes but he should at least have a shot. The main competition right now looks to be Josh Kline, who was the Patriots backup last season.
New England is getting a great offensive lineman that is extremely durable.
Karras started 43 games in his four-year career with the Illini.
