CHAMPAIGN — Jaylen Dunlap wants to help lead the Illinois football team. Good thing considering the low numbers of seniors coming back for the 2017 season.
There are just eight on the roster. Going into last season, there were 25. That’s a big drop.
“You don’t have to be a senior to be a leader on the team,” the defensive back from Crete-Monee said. “We’ve got a few younger guys who are going to have to step up.”
One of those players is senior-aged: receiver Mikey Dudek.
