Last year, Illini fans were stuck with a head coach in John Groce who didn’t have an offense that was conducive to winning, or scoring for that matter. They pounded the rock and didn’t have much movement until the shot clock was running out and then they would chuck the ball up only to miss the mark.
That type of offense is going to change this year, though. Underwood’s system won’t allow for this nonsense and Illinois will score more points and move the ball more efficiently. Just to be clear, every Illinois basketball player will benefit from having Underwood as the head coach of this program.
