CHICAGO — Illinois receiver Justin Hardee won’t be on the field with the team at Camp Rantoul because of an injured foot.
“He will be there, but he will not be physically going through it,” Illinois coach Tim Beckman said.
The coach said he hopes to have Hardee back on the field during the nonconference part of the season.
Beckman said receiver Mikey Dudek continues to recover from a torn ACL suffered during spring practice.
“Mikey Dudek has made drastic improvements,” Beckman said. “(Trainers are) very proud of the way he’s progressed.”
No timetable has been set for Dudek’s return.
