The Reds have been keen on the Guinea superstar all summer, but they haven’t been deterred by seeing a £57million bid rejected and are reportedly about to launch a £70m offer after learning the player has his heart set on a move.
Having used James Milner ahead of Alberto Moreno at left-back last season, it’s no surprise to see Jurgen Klopp moving for someone more natural in the position. Scottish star Robertson performed ably for the Tigers last year, despite their relegation, and could complete an £8million switch this week.
As part of any deal taking Robertson to Anfield, Hull City reportedly want winger Kent on loan.
