Texans Rumors: RB Arian Foster Undergoes Groin Surgery, No Injury Return Timetable

Our Texans rumors and news updates for August 7th:

Houston Texans running back Arian Foster underwent groin surgery on Friday morning to repair a groin muscle that was torn away from the bone, according to an ESPN.com report.

Foster is almost assured of being placed on short-term injured reserve, which would give the Texans the option to bring him back to practices following Week 6 and back into game action after Week 8.

While there is no stated timetable for Foster's return as of now, the Houston Texans are optimistic that he'll be close to a complete recovery after three months.

With Arian Foster currently out of the picture, the Texans will turn to a depth chart consisting of Alfred Blue, Jonathan Grimes, Chris Polk and rookie Kenny Hilliard. Houston has also worked out several other potential options, although no potential fits have been leaked to the media as of this time.
