Shakeel Rashad saved his best season for his last at North Carolina as he lined up as a traditional standup linebacker after previously operating in a hybrid role.
The Texans' undrafted rookie was a third-team All-Atlantic Coast Conference selection, starting every game and recording a career-high 126 tackles, 8 1/2 for losses and three forced fumbles with one interception. He had a career-high 16 tackles in his final game against Baylor.
"I did really well this season," Rashad said in a telephone interview. "We switched to a 4-3 and I played a regular linebacker position. I was in a hybrid role before where I had my hand down in the ground a lot before.
