Does older age matter for Tony Romo, other NFL quarterbacks?

Though no official documents have been signed, it seems likely the Texans are going to make a bid to sign Tony Romo if the Cowboys release him.

If the Texans beat out the Broncos and sign Romo, they will be doing so despite the fact Romo will be 37 years old when the 2017 season begins. That age seems high for most professional athletes, but is it really a detriment to success for NFL quarterbacks?

At least 24 quarterbacks aged 37 or older have started NFL games, dating all the way back to Y.A. Tittle in 1963.
