Texans News: Texans sign free agent, former New York Giants RB Andre Brown

Texans news went pretty quickly, with recent news that free agent RB Andre Brown was visiting the team turning into a contract in almost lightning-speed.

John McClain of the Houston Chronicle was the first to break the story, as the Houston Texans have found their replacement for former running back Ben Tate --

Andre Brown suffered through a host of injuries in his last two years with the New York Giants, appearing in just 18 of the Giants' 32 regular season games, while starting in just 10 of those contests. He presents a solid backup option to starting running back Arian Foster, as long as he can remain healthy and on the field.

Brown started and appeared in 8 games last season with the Giants. He carried the ball 139 times for just 492 yards and three touchdowns. His 3.5 yards per carry marked a sharp decrease from his 2012 totals, where he carried the ball at a very solid 5.3 yards per carry clip.
