Texans News: No Clear Pick For Houston's #16 Selection In The Draft

The Houston Texans are one of the hardest teams to nail down when it comes to their first round pick in the 2015 NFL Draft, with the franchise's #16 pick having been linked to a litany of prospects both in mock drafts and pre-draft meetings.

SBNation's Dan Kadar took a different tact with his mock draft selection for the Texans recently, combining consensus picks from 20 other mock drafters to create an odds list for each potential Houston target:

16. Houston Texans: Shane Ray, OLB, Missouri

There are some things to consider with this pick, the first being that Alvin Dupree is gone. There’s still a tie between Ray and running back Todd Gurley. The Gurley choice is a little strange to me. Arian Foster had a bounce back 2014 season and Alfred Blue looks like a decent backup. With that in mind, the choice goes to Ray, who would give Houston another pass rusher.

The picks:

20 percent Alvin Dupree

20 percent Todd Gurley

20 percent Shane Ray

5 percent DeVante Parker

5 percent Dorial Green-Beckham

5 percent Eric Kendricks

5 percent Jaelen Strong

5 percent Jalen Collins

5 percent Malcom Brown

5 percent Shaq Thompson

5 percent Vic Beasley

As is made evident by the list, nobody has a true handle on just what the Texans are going to do at #16, perhaps not even the Texans front office.
