The Houston Texans issued two promotions on Friday, naming Brian Gaine the new director of player personnel and Jon Carr the new director of college scouting.
Gaine joined the Houston Texans last February as the team's director of pro personnel after five years in the Miami Dolphins' player personnel department, including a stint as assistant general manager from 2012-13.

Entering his 17th season in the NFL in 2015, Gaine has also held jobs in the scouting departments of the Dallas Cowboys (2005-07) and New York Jets (1999-04), garnering promotions to assistant director of pro scouting with both organizations.
Carr will Mike Maccagnan as the Texans director of college scouting, after Maccagnan took the vacated New York Jets general manager role. Carr has worked as a national college scout for the Texans the past three seasons, and is entering the ninth year of his tenure in Houston.
In another move announced on Friday, the Texans have hired Matt Jansen as college scouting coordinator.
