2014 NFL Draft: Houston Texans Select Tom Savage

With the 135th overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the Houston Texans have selected Tom Savage out of Pittsburgh.

Position: Quarterback

Measurables: 6'4", 228 lbs, 31 5/8" arm length, 9 5/8" hands

In 13 games with the Pittsburgh Panthers in 2013, Tom Savage went 238-of-389 for 2,958 yards, 21 touchdowns and 9 interceptions. Savage saw his draft stock skyrocket throughout the pre-draft process, both due to his solid frame, arm strength, and the intangibles that he displayed in team interviews.

While Savage's body of work at the collegiate level may not jump off the tape, his raw skill set and teachable nature may make him the steal of the draft for the Texans at the end of the fourth round.
