Rockets Rumors: Rockets using Melo-LeBron pitch in free agency push?

In today's look into Rockets rumors and news, the Houston Rockets could be looking to use the possibility of pairing both LeBron James and Carmelo Anthony together as a way of luring both star free agents to Houston.

According to Sam Amick of USA Today Sports, "the depth of James' desire to play with Carmelo Anthony also remains a key factor, as they are known to be very interested in finding a way to partner and several teams (among them the Heat, Rockets and the Lakers) have been including this component in their strategic approach."

Amick believes the Heat are still prohibitive favorites to retain James, but that the chances of James leaving on the open market are "very real."

If the Rockets can truly begin to woo James, there is a chance that it could come with the cost of a sign-and-trade for James Harden, as earlier reports have indicated.

However, with a new prospective Big Three of Howard, Melo, and James, the Rockets might look at the loss of Harden as a necessary evil.
