Emanuel activated off the DL and picks up first win since Tommy John surgery

The Houston Astros activated 23-year-old, RHP Kent Emanuel (1-0, 1.80 ERA), the Corpus Christi Hooks 2015 Opening Day starter off the 7-day Disabled List yesterday in time to make his 2016 debut last night.

He pitched five innings Friday night, giving up just one run on four hits and a walk, while striking out two in a 61 pitch, 41 for strikes outing, to pick up his first win on the year.

Emanuel was selected by the Astros in the 3rd round of the 2013 draft out of the University of North Carolina . Last season he had posted a record of 1-1 with a 3.
