Astros claim LHP Ashur Tolliver off waivers

The Houston Astros offseason has been full of blockbuster moves. But that doesn't stop General Manager Jeff Luhnow from making waiver claims.

The team announced the waiver claim of left-handed pitcher Ashur Tolliver from the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim.

Tolliver, 28, was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles in the fifth round of the 2009 draft out to of Oklahoma City University. He missed all of the 2012 season with a shoulder surgery.

Tolliver reached the major leagues for the first time in 2016. He was 1-0 with 5.79 ERA in five appearances, Tolliver allowed three earned runs on five hits with five strikeouts and three walks in 4 2/3 innings.
