REPORT: Astros Acquire A's LHP Scott Kazmir Via Trade

The Houston Astros have bolstered their rotation for the stretch run of the 2015 MLB season, acquiring Oakland A's veteran lefty Scott Kazmir on Thursday, per Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports:

Per the Oakland A's official Twitter account, the Athletics will receive two notable prospects in the deal:

Kazmir has been stellar all season long for an inconsistent A's squad, going 5-5 with a sterling 2.38 ERA and 1.09 WHIP. As for the A's, Jacob Nottingham was considered by the Astros to be a sleeper prospect with starting potential in the Majors. Daniel Mengden provides solid arm strength and an effective sinker/slider combo.
