Nakamura was nearly honored in this space after shutting out Kamehameha-Kapalama April 28 to lift Waiakea into the HHSAA Division I championship game in Honolulu.
The left-hander lost out then due to seniority (teammate Gehrig Octavio), but, with his senior year set to start in less than a month, Nakamura takes the cake this time courtesy of his three-hitter Sunday as Nobu Yamauchi’s RBI Senior baseball team beat Arizona 2-1 to reach the World Series for the first time.
