GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Kevin King attended the NFL draft in Philadelphia for one reason: to hear his name called.

The University of Washington cornerback was one of five prospects who attended the draft but didn’t get selected in Thursday’s first round.

None of the others returned for Day 2.

But King returned to draft headquarters Friday and didn’t have to wait long, because the Green Bay Packers made King the first pick of the second round.

“I came here to hear my name called and if I wanted to go home and do it at home, I would be at home,” the native of Oakland, California, said on a conference call with reporters working at Lambeau Field.
