Join the club: Packers WR Jeff Janis tries to play with cast on broken hand

GREEN BAY, Wis. -- The last time Jeff Janis broke his hand, his coach just moved him from receiver to running back.

Eddie Lacy need not worry about that. The Green Bay Packers just hope Janis can play special teams with a club cast on his right hand.

That’s why Janis tried to practice this week with the large protective covering on his surgically repaired hand. Even though Janis caught a pass from Aaron Rodgers, it’s unlikely coach Mike McCarthy would put him in on offense until he’s able to play with a much smaller wrap.
