Once again, the Green Bay Packers’ quest to get quarterback Joe Callahan onto the practice squad has failed. Callahan was waived by the New Orleans Saints on Saturday, and both the Packers and Saints were expected to make plays to get him onto their practice squads if he cleared waivers.
However, the 0-6 Cleveland Browns had other plans. According to NFL.com’s Mike Garafolo’s sources, the Browns put in a claim for Callahan today, and by virtue of being the only 0-7 team in the NFL, they had the top waiver priority and will be awarded Callahan’s rights.
