Packers News: Green Bay Expects To Keep Jordy Nelson, Randall Cobb Duo Together

The Green Bay Packers already have wide receiver Jordy Nelson locked down with a four-year, $39 million contract extension signed this past July. Now, the focus shifts to Nelson's partner in the wide receiving corps, Randall Cobb.

"I think everyone wants Randall to be here," Nelson said, via Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com. "I think any player wants to play their whole career in the same spot, but it's a business on both sides. Sometimes people think it's a one-way business, but he's going to do what's best for him and what he thinks is the best situation for him."

Per one unnamed NFL executive, Cobb's relationship with general manager Ted Thompson is likely to play a big factor in getting a deal done.

"It will get done," the executive said. "He's a Ted guy."

While Cobb isn't likely to command just under $10 million per year like Nelson, the 24-year-old could very well secure a long-term pact with the Packers in the $6 or $7 million range.
